Recipe Ingredients

  • About 3 tbsp of any cooking oil

  • ½ cup of popcorn kernels

  • ½ tsp of salt

  • 2 tbsp of butter (add more if you love your popcorn extra buttery😉)

Recipe Directions

1. Heat the Oil

Add about 2 to 3 tablespoons of oil to your Larder & Vine Dutch Oven and heat over medium heat. Drop in 2 or 3 popcorn kernels as test kernels, then place the lid on the Dutch Oven.

2. Add the Kernels

When the test kernels pop, your oil is ready. Add ½ cup of popcorn kernels along with about ½ teaspoon of salt, then cover with the lid.

3. Pop the Corn

Keep the stove on medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes, occasionally shaking the Dutch Oven gently with the lid on to prevent the popcorn from burning. When the popping slows down, remove the pot from the heat but leave the lid on for about 5 minutes to allow any remaining kernels to finish popping.

4. Serve and Enjoy

After 5 minutes, remove the lid and pour the freshly popped popcorn into a large bowl. Melt 1 to 2 tablespoons of butter, drizzle it over the popcorn, toss to coat, and enjoy!
