1 lb steak, sliced ( London Broil, Flank Steak, Sirloin, etc.)
2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
16 oz broccoli
4 tablespoons water
2 teaspoons sesame seeds, garnish
½ cup hot water
6 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons sesame oil
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1 ½ tablespoons cornstarch
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons minced ginger
½ teaspoon black pepper
Slice your preferred cut of steak into thin strips. In a mixing bowl, combine all of the sauce ingredients and stir until well blended.
In your Larder & Vine Braiser, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the broccoli and 2 tablespoons of water, then cover and cook for about 5 minutes, until the broccoli is tender and vibrant in color. Once cooked, remove from the braiser and set aside.
In the same braiser, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Arrange the steak strips in an even layer and cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
Pour the prepared sauce mixture into the braiser over the cooked steak. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer and thicken for about 5 minutes.
